Oyster Mushroom 65


  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 cup milk or plant-based milk alternative

  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs

  • Vegetable oil for frying


  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Pour the milk into a separate bowl.

  3. Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.

  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 375°F.

  5. Dip the sliced oyster mushrooms in the flour mixture, then coat in the milk, and finally coat in the panko breadcrumbs.

  6. Carefully place the coated mushrooms in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

  7. Remove the fried mushrooms from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.

  8. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste, if desired.

  9. Serve the crispy fried oyster mushrooms hot as a snack or appetizer.
